Dori's journey to higher education and law school was far from straightforward. Coming from a community where few pursued college, she recognized that higher education was the key to her desired future. Initially enrolling in engineering at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, she faced challenges as a first-generation student and eventually dropped out. Determined to succeed, she opened an ice cream parlor but knew it was not her ultimate path. With the support of her parents, she decided to go back to college and pursued her passion for law. A note of encouragement from her professor at the University of Massachusetts in Boston inspired her to attend law school at Boston University, changing the course of her life.
